Today I have the amazing opportunity to review the ASUS ROG Strix G15 Gaming Laptop! I am a huge gamer and have been looking for an upgrade to my laptop for a while. I like to play my favorite games, like Forza, GTA V, PUBG, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, Dota 2, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. When the laptop arrived, I opened the box quickly and tried to start to play on the laptop within minutes. I was impressed by the overall quality of the laptop, as it didn't appear to be made of cheap plastic. This laptop has a single mechanical keyboard that has a metal chassis and is of beautiful orange metal color. The surface of the laptop is brushed metal which gives off a very sleek and elegant look. The look of the laptop definitely stands out from the crowd. This is a trend I will continue to see more of as I continue to review gaming laptops. It has just the right amount of weight to provide the laptop the stability needed for gaming. The hinge design on the ASUS ROG Strix G15 Gaming Laptop works very well.
Performance
I was impressed by the performance of the laptop, the 16GB of RAM was sufficient for any task but can also be expandable to 32GB. Even though I do run in more RAM than recommended, I didn't experience any hiccups while gaming. The speed was exactly what I wanted. I was a little bit worried about the price of the ASUS ROG Strix G15 because most other gaming laptops are a lot more expensive. I was pleasantly surprised because it performed at a professional level at an affordable price.
Keyboard
On the keyboard feel great for gaming and are quite responsive for typing as well. I also like the color of the keys as they are a bit lighter than the other Razer laptops. I like the fact that this laptop looks like a gamer's laptop and doesn't have any overbearing logos that detract from the overall look. As a gamer, I love playing FPS games. I personally am a gamer who prefers a mouse and keyboard to a controller because I enjoy the keyboard so much. This is why I was very interested in the keyboard on this laptop. I am extremely impressed and surprised by how comfortable the keyboard is. Since I tend to game for long periods of time at a time, the keyboard needed to have an amazing layout and it definitely has one. The key layout is not something you would normally find in a gaming laptop. The keyboard feels extremely nice and the dimmer lighting on the keyboard is very helpful.
